Overview 

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver 15710ST.OO.A002CA.01 solves a specific engineering problem: adding a rotating dive bezel to the Offshore case without disturbing its fixed octagonal bezel, the eight hexagonal screws that anchor the design. AP's answer was to leave the octagonal bezel fixed and route the 60-minute dive scale through an internal rotating flange, controlled by a dedicated screw-locked crown at 10 o'clock. This stainless steel, black dial reference is the 2015 update to the original 15703ST that added a sapphire exhibition caseback, and the configuration that set the visual standard for the Offshore Diver line since.

The case is 42mm stainless steel, satin-brushed with a polished chamfered edge on the octagonal bezel. It is larger than the standard Royal Oak's 41mm, sized to give the case room for the two crowns it carries. The black dial uses AP's Méga Tapisserie pattern, a larger-scale version of the Grande Tapisserie finish built for the bigger case, with white gold applied luminous hour markers and date at 3 o'clock. The black rubber strap closes on a steel pin buckle, the correct pairing for a dive-specification rubber strap. Water resistance is 300 metres, secured through the screw-down time-setting crown at 3 o'clock and the screw-locked bezel crown at 10.

The movement is AP's Calibre 3120, a self-winding manufacture calibre with a 60-hour power reserve at 21,600 vph, visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback with Côtes de Genève on the bridges and a 22-carat gold oscillating weight. It is the same finishing standard AP applies across the Offshore family at this tier, and to a buyer who already knows the calibre, that consistency is the point.

AP discontinued the 15710ST in 2021, replaced by the 15720ST, closing the production window on this configuration. Complete sets with original papers from that run are a finite, narrowing pool, and within the line this black dial reference on rubber carries its value on being the reference point; coloured dial variants carry theirs on rarity and limited-edition status instead. At RM75,500 against an original RRP of RM119,310, the entry sits well below retail on a reference AP does not discount when new.
